We all are guilty of choosing the unhealthy option over something nutritious on one occasion or more. With any of my one on one nutrition programs, Nourish to Heal will eliminate the presence of an unhealthy option, by helping you develop an understanding and appreciation for food and how it serves you. As we conclude the nutrition segment of your counseling, you will know how to select nutritious food, keep a steady stock in your home, and a variety of simple recipes to cook throughout the week. Healthy Food Pantry Makeover

Your health and wellness begins at home. This popular one on one nutrition programs is the Pantry Makeover. It’s much easier to retreat to an unhealthy treat or meal when they are easily accessible. Removing these temptations from your pantry and replacing them with healthy alternatives does wonders. Think of it this way, “Out of sight, out of mind.” You can’t eat junk if its not there.

My group or one on one cooking classes will show you how to use your pantry as a healthy resource as you create simple and delicious meals for you and your family. I understand how difficult it can be to muster up the energy to create a fresh meal after a long day of work. Many times convenience heavily outweighs nutrition. Cooking at home is cost effective and a great way to build good nutrition habits. For those who need some direction and those who want more variety, I suggest my group or one on one cooking classes. With this one on one nutrition program I’ll teach you how to make a delicious meal right at home without spending a fortune on takeout.

With some minor changes, healthier habits will gradually come. At the beginning of this group or one on one nutrition program I will create the meals with you. I’ll consider your preferences, nutrition needs, allergies, and intolerances. After a few short classes, we’ll switch roles and you will become the cook. You’ll be amazed at how many delicious meals you will know how to make. My hands on training makes learning simple. You’ll be able to start cooking healthy, nutritious meals for you and your family in no time.

Reishi Mushroom Healing

People rarely understand the amazing power food holds over us. We also neglect to realize the healing abilities certain foods have. In this one on one nutrition program we explore the world of healing foods. We’ll look at the potential benefits some types of food contain, like the Alphay Reishi mushroom. Also known as Ling-Zhi, this East Asian grown fungus has been used in Traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. This medicinal mushroom is full of nutrients offering assistance in treating high cholesterol, blood pressure, and certain allergies. It’s high amounts of polysaccharides, proteins, and amino acids have even proven to be helpful in rebuilding the immune system, as it contains all of the essential building blocks. Studies have found that the Reishi mushroom can even facilitate in healing cancer and ulcers. With this nutrition program we will explore the potential benefits the Reishi mushroom contains for your specific case as we integrate it into your daily diet.

Food allergy, food intolerance, or sensitivity

A food allergy, intolerance or sensitivity can react with your body in many different ways. From acute instances where you feel bloated to major instances of anaphylactic shock it’s always good to monitor your body when introducing new food into your diet. With this one on one nutrition program, we will analyze the way your body is breaking down food and investigate any digestive issues. This part of my programs always surprises people, as they learn about allergies, intolerances or sensitivities they were unaware of.

We will determine what foods you should stay away from, and what some early warning signs to an allergic reaction could be. Food allergies have become much more common now, which makes labeling food essential for safety. Foods like fish, nuts, and wheat can cause major allergic reactions that can stop a person from breathing. Labeling foods is a great way to avoid stressful situations and hospital visits. It can be frustrating attempting to meet adequate nutrition needs and avoid food allergies. I will help you still reach your nutritional needs while safely eating healthy food. Food intolerances can be due to malabsorption or digestive issues. I will work with you to identify the food triggers so you can avoid the confusing and overwhelming variety of symptoms you can experience. Food sensitivities can be much more subtle and cumulative with increased intake of foods causing these symptoms. Sensitivities are another issue that can be frustrating to pinpoint. Luckily, I offer food sensitivity testing using LEAP testing (Mediator Release Testing). As a Certified LEAP therapist I can identify sensitivities causing symptoms like migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, and fibromyalgia.

Nothing can be more stressful or frustrating than trying to eat right only to find yourself sick or harmed. With my skills and collection of tests I will bring relief to you as I have with many of my past clients. I’ll show you that it is possible to eat healthy and safely.
